Product Description

GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the naturally occurring tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine (Gly-His-Lys, or GHK), a short three-amino-acid sequence first isolated from human plasma. The free peptide has an exceptionally high affinity for copper(II) ions, and in the GHK-Cu form the tripeptide chelates a single copper atom to give the characteristic blue complex. Because of this copper-binding identity, GHK-Cu is classified among the copper-peptide research compounds and is supplied here as a reference material for laboratory investigation.

In preclinical and in-vitro research, GHK-Cu has been studied extensively as a tissue-signaling molecule. Reported experiments in dermal fibroblast cultures and rodent wound models have examined its association with collagen synthesis (types I and III), glycosaminoglycan and proteoglycan expression, fibroblast activity, and angiogenesis-related pathways such as TGF-beta signaling. Investigators have also explored GHK-Cu in models of skin remodeling, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, and gene-expression modulation. These observations derive exclusively from cell-culture and animal studies; no claims of human efficacy are made or implied, and all findings should be interpreted as research observations rather than established outcomes.
