Product Description

NAD+ (beta-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a naturally occurring dinucleotide coenzyme rather than a peptide, despite being marketed within peptide research catalogs. Structurally it consists of two nucleotides joined through their phosphate groups: one bearing an adenine nucleobase and the other bearing nicotinamide, linked by a pyrophosphate bridge. Because it is built from nucleotides and not from amino acids, NAD+ has no peptide bonds and no amino-acid sequence or length. It is supplied as a lyophilized powder reference material intended solely for in-vitro and preclinical laboratory investigation.

NAD+ functions in cellular biochemistry as a central redox cofactor, cycling between its oxidized (NAD+) and reduced (NADH) forms to shuttle electrons during metabolic reactions. In preclinical and in-vitro research it has been studied as a substrate and cosubstrate for enzyme families including the sirtuins and PARPs, which has made it a frequent tool compound in studies of cellular energetics, mitochondrial function, DNA-damage signaling, and redox balance.

Within anti-aging research models, NAD+ has been investigated for its observed role in cellular senescence pathways and in cultured endothelial cells and keratinocytes, where laboratory studies have examined its anti-senescence behavior in cell-culture systems. All such findings are reported as observations from cell-culture and animal research and do not establish any effect in humans.
