Product Description
Pinealon is a synthetic short-chain peptide bioregulator composed of the three L-amino acids glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and arginine (Glu-Asp-Arg), and is also referred to in the literature as the EDR peptide. As a tripeptide, it belongs to the family of low-molecular-weight "bioregulator" peptides originally derived and studied at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology in Russia, where it was investigated as a fragment associated with neuropeptide preparations. Its compact size and amino-acid composition make it a subject of interest in studies of peptide-DNA and peptide-chromatin interactions.
In preclinical and in-vitro research, Pinealon has been investigated for its role in neuronal models, including studies examining cell viability under hypoxic or oxidative-stress conditions, modulation of reactive oxygen species, and the regulation of gene expression linked to neuronal signaling. Animal-model studies have explored its association with learning and memory tasks, serotonin-related pathways, and protection of cells against experimentally induced stressors. These reports are observations drawn from laboratory and animal investigations and are referenced here solely to describe the compound's research context.
