Tesamorelin

Tesamorelin is a synthetic peptide of the growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analog class. It is a stabilized derivative of human growth hormone-releasing factor, hGRF(1-44), comprising a 44-amino-acid chain modified at the N-terminus with a trans-3-hexenoyl group and bearing a C-terminal amide. These structural modifications are reported to increase resistance to enzymatic degradation by serum peptidases relative to the native peptide, which is one reason it is studied as a research tool for the GHRH receptor axis.

In preclinical and in-vitro research, tesamorelin has been investigated for its capacity to bind and activate the GHRH receptor and to modulate downstream signaling associated with the somatotropic (growth hormone/IGF-1) pathway.
