VIP (Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide) is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide belonging to the secretin/glucagon superfamily of regulatory peptides. First isolated from intestinal tissue, it is now known to be expressed broadly across the central and peripheral nervous systems, the gastrointestinal tract, and immune tissues. The peptide is C-terminally amidated and adopts a largely disordered conformation in aqueous solution, transitioning toward a stabilized alpha-helix upon membrane association or binding to its class B G-protein-coupled receptors (VPAC1 and VPAC2). This material is supplied as a synthetic, research-grade lyophilized peptide intended solely for in-vitro and laboratory investigation.
